Last Wednesday March 8 was International Women's Day.
The CIP Tafalla equality commission organized a joint activity.
We watched this video "women who inspire the world" with our students:
After reflection and debate, the students carried out an activity in which they had to select among the women who inspire them one who stands out for her courage, her position in front of the world, her art or her talent: referents of each VET specialty, the heroines of the cinema, the classics of literature, the muses of the urban legend, etc.
Once chosen, they made a summary of their most important contributions, printed it out and placed it on the mural on the hall window, where the 8M logo was placed.
Last 24th December the "Olentzero", a legendary character who has been coming down from the mountains for more than 40 years to visit Tafalla and bring presents to children, came again. This year the "zampanzar" of Tafalla, the giants of the ikastola, "dantzaris" from the Tafalla dance school, Tafalla bagpipers, the "txaranga", the "txistularis" and the Tafalla fanfarre collaborated in the reception procession and walked through the streets. A total of more than 500 people were involved in the visit of this charcoal burner who lives in the Basque mountains. Different Christmas cards from our students
Halloween and Finados: different ways to perceive death, a shared feeling Our IES Adeje celebrated this special day in many ways: different departments (Language, Drawing, History, Technology and English) elaborated activities and materials to represent death and how our beloved ones are remembered. Students and teachers produced representations with varied materials, podcasts with horror stories and anecdotes, photographs and illustrations. Knowing different celebrations help us to understand other cultures and spot similarities and differences with respect and emotion. Students from 1º ESO, 2º ESO, 4º ESO. Hope you like our work! 💀👻 Video: Halloween and Finados at IES ADEJE Social media-Facebook Futhermore, our town hall organised an open theatre along Adeje streets to travel through a past time and see how people celebrated this particular date on the island. How did you celebrate it? Please tell us! 👀
